Optics of Semiconductor nanoStructures Group

The Optic of Semiconductor nanoStructures Group (GOSS) is concerned with a wide spectrum of research topics going from fundamental aspects of light-matter interaction to opto-electronic devices, and from electronic structure engineering to material characterization.

Among on-going studies are topics such as the optical manipulation of the electron spin in a quantum dot, the fabrication and study of photonic crystal-based devices, or the collective properties of half-light half-matter quasiparticules formed by the strong coupling of a photon to an electronic excitation confined in an optical microcavity.
